New-look War Pensions Treatment Card
VANZ is replacing the existing treatment card with the new look card featured on the right. Veterans will receive the new card if their War Disablement Pension changes. If a veteran has lost their treatment card they can request a new one by ringing the freephone number, 0800 483 8372.
Veterans are entitled to funded medical care for the conditions they receive a War Disablement Pension for. All veterans in receipt of a War Disablement Pension are issued with a War Pensions Treatment Card. The treatment card lists disabilities specific to the veteran the card is issued to. This allows medical practitioners and pharmacists to check whether the conditions being treated will be funded by VANZ. VANZ cannot meet the costs for treatment or medication for a disability not listed on the card.
If a veteran requires specialist treatment or surgery for an accepted disability, they should contact their VANZ case manager to obtain prior approval.
For routine treatment costs a veteran can pay the co-payments and seek reimbursement from VANZ or the medical practice or pharmacist can bill VANZ directly.
