You may experience delays hearing back from us about your applications

We are conscious that some of our clients are experiencing delays in receiving responses from us regarding applications for new conditions, or a reassessment of an existing condition.

What is causing the delay

Our processing times have been significantly impacted by:

  • the effects of COVID-19 on our workforce
  • extended waiting times for specialist and medical reports
  • a 60% increase in the volume of applications being received.

We expect ongoing delays to continue for the coming months.

We prioritise applications

The priority for handling the applications we receive is to process those received from living veterans first.

As such, we will deal with all applications in the following order of priority:

  1. Terminal illness
  2. Mental health
  3. Financial hardship
  4. All other applications including new ex gratia payment applications.

We appreciate the patience of all our clients.
