Burial in a Services Cemetery

To be buried in a Services Cemetery you must have served as a member of Her Majesty's Forces on certain deployments, or be the spouse or partner of someone who has.

Eligibility to be buried in a Services Cemetery needs to be approved by your local authority.

Who can get this

You may be able to be buried in a Services Cemetery if you:

  • have Operational Service under the Burial and Cremation Act, or
  • your spouse or partner has Operational Service under the Burial and Cremation Act.

Some local authorities may only allow burial of a spouse or partner after the member of Her Majesty's Forces burial.
