Applications open for 2025 Invictus Games

Following the success of the 2023 Invictus Games, applications are now being called for from current and former NZDF uniformed personnel for the 2025 Games.

Applications close 19 January 2024.

About the 2025 Invictus Games

The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick current and former Service people.

The 2025 Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada in February 2025. A Winter/Summer hybrid games, events include Alpine Skiing, Indoor Rowing, Nordic Skiing, Sitting Volleyball, Skelton, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Curling, and Wheelchair Rugby.

There will be a selection camp for potential competitors at Burnham Military Camp 1–4 March 2024. This will be followed by training camps and tournaments, throughout the lead-up to the Games.

Criteria for application

You will have had a significant life-changing event through injury, or illness (mental or physical) while serving in uniform within NZDF, either domestically or operationally.

In addition, you will:

  • be able to travel internationally (independently or with minor assistance) in economy class (exceptions might be considered)
  • be willing to participate in multiple sporting events
  • have clearance from your Medical Officer/General Practitioner
  • self-manage your own medications
  • confirm your attendance at pre-travel training camps and travelling internationally doesn’t interfere with any future surgical or medical interventions
  • have Unit Commander approval (for currently serving personnel).
